Oh my gosh, a website! (and a blog)

I’ve been getting back into my photography this year. However, I’ve certainly felt my work has been lacking direction. This is something that I have always struggled with since finishing Uni; without deadlines, tutorials, and grades to push me, projects get started but never finished.

I wanted to dedicate this first blog post to defining what this website is going to be, and the plans I have for it.

  • Curate the images that I already have on here: Because the website has been a project of web-hosting as well as web-building (am I a full-stack developer now?), so far a lot of the work is not ordered, un-edited, or there are things I want to refine before putting it out into the world again. This would include all my uni projects (The Horse has a defined order which WordPress has ignored, Instead of Dwelling needs work) Insomnia needs to be edited, and Plymbridge needs to be curated.
  • Work on new projects. There are a few that I’ve got in the pipeline, some more ambitious than others:
    • The Ship (Photographing shipwrecks in Plymouth)
    • Experimental Photography
    • Portrait photography of dog-sports people
    • Photographing the SW Coast Path
  • Keeping this blog as a diary – Updates will be sporadic at the best of times, but eh, who knows what will happen.

I’m also going to add some recent photos in these blog posts, whether they are work in progress or something completely unrelated remains to be seen.

I’m going up to Cornwall this weekend, so will do some photography there. No idea what to expect (even what camera to bring!).

A photo taken at Burrator Reservoir. I wasn’t sure if it was better in B+W or colour, but B+W gave more justification to the light.
